Frequently Asked Questions

I have never written code before. Where do I start?

Start with a kit that supports block programming — the TinkerBott Micro:bit Car or the Arduino Explorer Kit. You build working behaviour by snapping blocks together, and pick up the underlying logic as you go. Text-based code comes later, on the same hardware.

Do I need to buy anything beyond the kit?

It depends on the kit. Several robot kits ship without batteries, because lithium cells have shipping restrictions. Each product page states exactly what is and is not included — check the Specifications table before ordering.

Are the courses included with the kits?

Kits that include a course say so on their product page. You can also browse our courses separately.

Can I use these for a school or university project?

Yes — that is what most of them are designed for. The kits are programmable in Arduino and Python as well as block editors, so they suit coursework at a range of levels.
